A food web is many different predators and prey. They can all eat the same thing. A food chain is one thing that eats something gets energy then something eats that and keeps going.

1. A food chain and a food web are indeed different. A food chain has one producer, herbivore, carnivore, and decomposer. A food web has many producers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and decomposers. So basically a food web is a more complicated version of a food chain.

The difference between a food web and a food chain is that a food web is more detailed than a food chain. Also a food chain only goes one direction, as a food web goes many directions.

A food chain is made of producers, consumers and decomposers that work together to get energy. A food web is how plants and animals in a community act together. It is made of many food chains that overlap.

A food web is an animal eats something but something else eats that animal. It goes in multiple directions. A food chain is a thing that goes in one direction.
