1. the first thing I did was 1/4+ blank = blank twelfths. then I said what times 3 = 12. The answer is 4. Then I did 1 times 4 = 4 Then I added 4/12 + 1/12 and got 5/12.

1.3 multiples: 3,6,9,12. 12 multiples:12. 1/3 x 4/4 =4/12

1. 1/3 is = to 4/12 because 1/3*4/4= 4/12 so 4/12+1/12=5/12
